I grew up on building sites.
As a little girl, I’d spend my weekends and school holidays in my father’s factories, but my happiest days were when dad would take me to the building sites with him. I’d spent hours chatting to the tradesmen and watching what they were doing. I was fascinated.
My working life began in a large law firm, but building was in my blood. After several years I said goodbye to the legal world to manage a bespoke cabinetry business. From there, it was a natural progression to construction. I became qualified in project management and licensed to supervise high-end residential building projects in my family’s business.
But sales were slow, and I needed to get an edge over our competitors.
Spending so much time on site, I realized there was an exciting opportunity to film and photograph our projects as we were building them, not only to show the progress of the build and the finished product but the raw emotions of clients who were so thrilled to see their dreams become a reality. These were customers testimonials with a real punch.
Ever since then, all I’ve wanted to do is help construction businesses get noticed and get their own edge. How? By storytelling with video and photography to engage audiences and show proof of their incredible work.
Because the fact is trying to stand doesn’t need to be hard work.
I believe in the power of visual storytelling as a strategy for sales. Every business has a unique story to tell, and having purpose and values sells. But to do that, they need to be communicated with stories that capture people’s attention and emotions.
Heartfelt storytelling is both profitable and human.
